BAKDEP – In what seems to be a response to the recent progressive ruling made by the Supreme Court, Kuehongese Chairman of the National Council General Vu Yền Lực has removed three of the nine top judges of the Supreme Court. The three judges were: Vân Lành Ngo, Từ Ngọc Hoàng and Xà Lành Phạm.
“It is with regret that I, as Chairman of the National Council, have to sign an executive order to remove the three judges from the Supreme Court. The country shall not tolerate the corruption and manipulation of the liberals that has crept into our country,” he announced in a news release regarding the removal of the three judges.
Just on Saturday, the Supreme Court ruled that the LGBT-advocates group Queerhong is legal. While it had drawn cheers and celebrations within Kuehong and around the world, there were protests, many of whom of the Christic community, regarding the ruling. The Chairman and the government had not made any official statement until this morning.
When asked about the recent moves by the Chairman, the General Secretary for LGBT-advocates Queerhong, Biện Quốc Khánh, has said there was nothing much to worry about yet, as the group is ready to defend against any moves by the government. “If they try anything against us, we will continue to stand strong,” said Bien, as he addressed reporters while boarding his plane back to Kuehong. He added he has nothing to worry about for himself, as his arrest will bring more cause to the movement.
