Xiongjing – The Bai Emperor yesterday called for unity of the Bai people and efforts towards “independent scientific research”, explaining that this would “counter” foreign intervention and dominance in the region.

The speech comes as the Emperor commemorates Duanwujie, or Dragon Boat Festival. The Emperor today inaugurated the new scientific research wing of the Xiongjing National University.

“Today marks another milestone in our country’s scientific development,” said the Emperor. “This was a joint effort of Bai people around the world, including some of our brothers in Dehua and Kaosha, and another step towards the unification of the Bai people.”

The Empire often uses the Baiyu name “Dehua” to refer to the Republic of Cinasia, a country the Empire does not recognise and continues to claim over.

“The Empire’s scientific advancements must accelerate such that our Empire is once more the centre of science and civilization. And we must remain united as one people, as one country, such that the Federal States cannot order around us. We must continue the work of resisting foreign interference in the region.”

The Empire has repeatedly called for Bai unity against its rival the Federal States, as it continues to face off Federal States-allied Cinasia for influence in the region. It accused the Federal States of inciting regional tensions through interference in regional affairs.

Not long ago, the Bai Foreign Ministry sent a strong rebuke against a new series of arms deals signed between the Federal States and the rival Cinasian Republic. The Emperor also cited the arms deals as a ”deplorable reliance” on foreign technology.

“The Bai people must continue to remain independent of foreign interference and repeal any imperialistic ambitions that will destabilise not only the Empire but the region as a whole.”
