Yu-King – Before his appointment as Chairman of the National Security and Stability Council (NSSC), Vice Chairman Le Van Kiet has made a brief visit to Cinasia, a long-time rival of the Federal Republic, this morning.
The high-profile meeting, sanctioned by Kuehong’s ally Bai Empire, was held in the Cinasian capital of Yu-King. The Cinasian President was reported to have invited the incoming Chairman to the country “to discuss a series of issues”.
The Vice Chairman is set to replace the incumbent Chairman Vu Yen Luc on September 23. Ahead of the meeting, Le said that the visit was to familiarise himself with the latest developments there. Le also have plans to visit Fayaan, the Bai Empire and Grinzez.
After the meeting, which ended this afternoon, the Cinasian President said that while there were some differences outlined in the candid and constructive dialogue, he hoped that both states would continue cooperating on issues of common interests.
“We have raised certain issues such as Kuehong’s involvement in the Shaachrau Islets and its missile programme. While we are unable to come to an agreement on these issues, we still share common interests over the security and peace in the region,” said the President.
Separately, Le said that the “frank exchange of views” with the Cinasian president has given “some degree of assurance” to Kuehong’s security. However, he highlighted that Kuehong’s would still have to keep its vigilant posture to prevent external forces from undermining its sovereignty.
“I promise that under my administration, we will work towards a safe and secure Muinon for all. Kuehong remains committed to working with its neighbours to keep the peace, and prevent the region from descending into war, ” said Le as he departed for Kuehong.
Other delegates interviewed said that these talks proved to be a solid foundation for a new era of relations between Cinasia and Kuehong. Arrangements are being made for future high-profile talks between the two states.
