QUENTINSBURGH, Freedemia (January 12, 2022). Krispy S.A., owner of Krispy and Baleadas & Semitas, and StarBrands International Inc., owner of StarBurgers and Pizacyro Hero, announced their merger today. The combined parent company will operate under the name Golden Brands and build on an already extensive international presence.
Krispy has one of the largest international presences of any major fast-food chain, with StarBurgers not far behind. The two Lycene-based companies (Krispy out of Barzona, StarBurgers out of Freedemia) have made significant expansions internationally over the past decades, despite the dominance of chains based out of powerful markets like the Federal States and Bai Empire. The company will remain Lycene-based post-merger as well, with the main corporate headquarters for the combined company planned for Quentinsburgh while retaining an extensive presence in Barzona (city).
The merger is made more viable by the fact that both companies own mostly complementary brands. All four major chains that will be brought under the Golden Brands umbrella specialize in different types of fast food (Krispy in fried chicken, StarBurgers in burgers/fries, Baleadas & Semitas in Latin-Tarephian cuisine, and Pizacyro Hero in Freedemian cuisine). This should allow the brands to strengthen each other rather than cause internal competition while creating a stronger counterpoint to Federal States-based conglomerates.
The merger may potentially also lead to a larger international presence of Golden Brands’ smaller chains like Baleadas & Semitas and Pizacyro Hero in markets where Krispy and StarBurgers have already seen success while allowing the company more financial room to experiment with new concepts.

Little is expected to change on the customer experience side, as each chain will retain its current power and autonomy within the company.
