Xiongjing – To mark the first anniversary of the death of the Late Emperor Fengyang, the Emperor would be conferred the Royal Order of the Chrysanthemum (High Distinction), the nation’s highest honour.
In a press statement released on Wednesday (Oct 25), the Bai Chancellor Office said the posthumous conferment was awarded “in recognition of Emperor Fengyang’s profound contributions to Bai society and his enduring legacy.” The statement also added that this was “a gesture of gratitude and respect” from the entire nation towards “a wise leader” who has left “an indelible mark” on Bai’s history.

Even as a constitutional monarch, the late Emperor wielded significant influence in the country’s politics and was held in deep affection and respect by many of his people. He had overseen the country’s developments from his father’s authoritarian Regency Era to the 21st century, while shaping the revered and very powerful monarchy of today. He was succeeded by his daughter, the Hexi Empress, whose coronation was held at the beginning of the year.
The Royal Order of the Chrysanthemum (High Distinction) is a rare and prestigious honour, reserved for individuals whose contributions have had a transformative impact on the nation. The title was first introduced by Emperor Guangzhi in 1821 and was only posthumously awarded to Bai citizens. Recent prominent recipients included Regent Yu Zeming and New Bai’s first Chancellor Zhao Xilang.
