BAKDEP – Weeks after the Federal States and regional neighbours reported a launch of several projectiles from the Do Cua Naval Base in Kuehong, the National Security and Stability Council (NSSC) has confirmed a long-range missile test in a tweet yesterday. This confirmation of the launch comes after days of “heightened activities” at the base.

The test firing was Kuehong’s first of a submarine-launched missile in three years. Kuehong is believed to have a large set of missiles including long-range types, though Kuehong has insisted none of its missiles “have the capability of carrying a nuclear warhead”. It was additionally reported that missile was launched in a vertical mode and that its test had no adverse impact on the security of neighbouring countries.

After the confirmation, Federal States authorities have condemned the test, saying that it will “undermine the regional stability” in the region. It has planned to convene an emergency Assembly of Nations (AN) meeting in light of the missile launch.

A Sierran senator has said that Kuehong is clearly the “aggressor” in the region and has urged strong action against the country. On the other hand, the State of Atascadera has issued a statement that the FSA Military has “no right” in making “petty statements about Kuehong” for there is no “imminent danger”.

The neighbouring nations have also issued protests over the test. The Cinasian president issued a statement urging its neighbour to “act responsibly” and has summoned the Kuehongese ambassador in Yu-King. Fayaan has called for “stronger” actions against Kuehong and plans to impose embargoes and sanctions on the country.
