To my fellow loyal citizens,
Happy Lunar New Year to all! My greetings is not to the people of my country, but to fellow brothers and sisters all around the world, especially those in the Kaosha and Dehua regions. Today is a time for reunions and celebration. May we continue to have a prosperous and peaceful year ahead.
Today we mark the 862nd year since the founding of the First Bai Dynasty. Despite several crises, troubles and trying times, we, the Bai people have endured. We emerged from several decades of political turmoil, and now the New Bai Dynasty has continued for three generations, restoring peace and prosperity for our people.
Thanks to our steady pursuit of high-quality development, our economy has never been stronger. We have achieved several significant breakthroughs, and we shall continue working harder, as we chart a bold course for the future.
We have seen great strides in our development projects, especially at the Grinzez border region, the northwestern coast and the inner valleys. We are now in the final stages of a new megaport in Port Dunghoi, and starting developments on the Qiongzhu islets. We have also started working on the new HSR link to neighbouring Kanglapo, with a tunnel breakthrough at southern Yinxue in November.
Under our recently expanded healthcare programme, an additional 20 million has received additional health benefits. Now all villages have a hospital within reach, allowing quicker treatment for illnesses requiring immediate care. We have also successfully reduced the unemployment rate by 2.3% through creating new jobs in the rural areas, and re-skilling and upgrading our workforce to be future ready.
I applaud the government’s efforts to continue investing heavily in our people. Each one of us must strive to improve ourselves, do our best, and chase our dreams. And I know parents are making the effort to bring up children well, with the right character and values.
We shall continue renewing and developing our country. I am proud to announce that we will start developing a new digital district in Guang’an, which will include another university dedicated to technology and design. We also remained committed to cutting down greenhouse emissions, by encouraging the use of hybrid cars and making biofuel stations more accessible.
Let us continue to move forward, and work for the good of our country. I wish all the Bai people good health, and a very happy Bai New Year.
