The Izaki Prime Minister, Tariki Tara (45), confirmed through a social media post that he is unable to attend the 12th EUOIA Environmental Policy Conference scheduled for 8 March in Kyuoi, Nuen, due to unspecified symptoms that prevented him from travelling overseas.
Instead, he will participate remotely via videoconference, and the Izaki minister of agriculture, forestry and fishing, Rihasamo Yungas (61) will join Tanjinen Rika (36), the country’s newly-appointed minister of the environment and green policies.
“It is with deep regret that I am unable physically to attend the upcoming EUOIA conference in Kyuoi,” said the prime minister. “However, Izaland remains committed to combating climate change, and I will attend remotely to keep myself updated with policy changes and offer any input in the conference.”
In addition, Minister Tara said he would be hosting a press conference on Friday at 14.30 local time in which he will address the media regarding his state of health. The prime minister has also assured the public that he is in good hands and that he will be back to work soon.
The Izaki prime minister was reported to be suffering a string of illnesses since the beginning of the year. Minister Tara had previously cancelled a scheduled visit to Plevia, and instead sent a delegation on his behalf. Many have begun expressing concerns about Tara’s health, especially after a widely-circulated video showed the minister being visibly ill as he visited a shrine recently.
The prime minister’s press secretary insisted yesterday that Minister Tara is still in good health, rebuffing unconfirmed rumors suggesting that the prime minister was seeking urgent medical treatments. In a media statement, the office urged the public to remain calm and not to speculate about the prime minister’s health. Nevertheless, the exact nature of his condition remains unclear, as his office has not released any details regarding his health.
The EUOIA President hosting the summit sends his best wishes regarding the prime minister’s health and hopes for a face-to-face meeting soon to discuss various wide-ranging issues from trade to defence.
