Jincheng – Bai’s internet giant Baixun Holdings has announced plans to develop a new AI chatbot to rival the popular Cogito chatbot. The new chatbot, named “HuiAide”, is set to “revolutionize” how people communicate and interact with technology.
Cogito, which is currently one of the most popular chatbots on the market, has gained a reputation for its ability to provide personalized and engaging interactions with users. Following Cogito’s uncanny ability to output cogent blocks of text based on simple queries, various tech companies have jumped on board in response to frenzied global interest in the new chatbot. Last week, insiders revealed that Baixun Holdings is “conducting research” on Cogito-like technology.
The news comes as the Bai National Agency for Technological Development said it saw the potential of such chatbots and would be pushing for integrating artificial intelligence into Bai society and the economy. This is despite qualms expressed by a couple of academic professors in Bai, who warned that students could exploit the tool to cheat in their exams. A few who tested out Cogito also noted a couple of errors in its output, notably claiming that the former Bai Chancellor Li Shenkang is still in office and that Yu Shengde is the current Bai Emperor.
The state-owned Imperial Press Agency even said in a post that the chatbot “could provide a helping hand to outside forces in its spread of misinformation and its manipulation of global narratives for their own geopolitical interests.” There are even calls in the Bai Yihuiting, the country’s legislature, to ban the use of Cogito in the country.
The company’s CEO, Zhang Ming, said that HuiAide will be a game-changer in the AI chatbot market, and expressed confidence that HuiAide will be a suitable substitute for Cogito.
“We are excited to announce the development of HuiAide, which we believe will offer users an unparalleled level of interaction and engagement reflective of our country’s culture and values. Our new chatbot will be more than just a tool for answering questions,” Zhang said. “I believe this is a worthwhile investment and would bring our country further strides in technology and development.”
In preliminary reports, HuiAide will be designed to be more intuitive and human-like than existing chatbots, with the ability to understand natural language and engage in a way similar to a human conversation. The chatbot will be integrated with Baixun Holdings’ existing platforms, including their e-commerce and customer service channels.
The development of the new chatbot is being led by Baixun’s AI research team, which has been working on the project for several months. The development of HuiAide is expected to take several years, with Baixun Holdings planning to release the chatbot in 2026.
