Bakdep – The Kuehongese government has slammed reports that they have refused to allow their Imani soldiers to break fast and observe Ramadan, the current holy month for the Imanis. The reports, which emerged and have been circulating online for some weeks, alleged that ‘many Imanis’ were forced to remain on duty, some even forced to eat pork and non-halal food even during the fasting period.
A government spokesman have said that the reports are ‘faked’ and ‘exaggerated’, saying that the government does not discriminate against Imanis nor tried to forcefully assimilate them. They have assured Imanis that they will have ‘sufficient rest and other arrangements made’ during the month, even allowing ‘non-essential’ personnel to return to their hometowns to spend time with their families.
Some Imanis in Kuehong has also spoken up and dismissed the reports as well, saying that ‘all is well’ in Kuehong, with mosque services going on as usual. The Imani Community of Kuehong (ICK) has also said that nothing of such have ever occurred or reported to the ICK, which oversees the concerns of the muslim population in Kuehong. Muslims make up of about 5% in Kuehong, largely Neegs residing in the southern regions.
Investigations are ongoing regarding the reports, which has since been taken down by the various social media platforms. The social media platforms denied any responsibility in the circulation of the reports.
