Xiongjing – In a visit to the nearly completed Bai High-Speed Rail (HSR) station at Bintan, Bai Chancellor Li Shenkang pledged to resume talks on the HSR project and improve ties with Kaosha and Cinasia.

“As you can see here, where I stand, is an empty terminus devoid of passengers. In the future, it will be a bustling hub connecting the Bai people and our brothers together. I pledge to finish off what my predecessors have started, to continue the HSR project in Northern Archanta.”

The leaders of Kaosha and Cinasia have expressed hesitancy over the issue, saying that the issue is best not discussed as ties “were sinking to a new low”, with Bai recently sending military jets near Cinasian airspace. However, they said they are welcome to “fresh proposals” that ensure peace and prosperity in the region.

The Cinasian President, in his official statement, said, “The Republic of Cinasia looks forward to receiving more details from the Bai Nation so that we can study them and consider the matter again starting from a clean slate. However, Bai must put aside its hostile policies against Cinasia and Kaosha to make its proposals work.

Similarly, in its official press statement, the Kaoshan government said, “Any proposal to improve the ties among our administrations will be beneficial for the peace and prosperity of the Muinon Peninsula as a whole. I urge the Bai administration to seize its hostile policies and accept it could not force us to accept its proposals.”

The Northern Archantan HSR project, which would connect from Bai to Fayaan via Kaosha, Cinasia and Kuehong, was first proposed in 2008. Talks on the project began in 2013 in a detenté as Bai sought to improve relations with Kaosha and Cinasia.

However, discussions were called off with Kaosha and Cinasia refusing to give Bai “total control” of the project. Nevertheless, Bai continued on its domestic HSR project, while Kaosha and Cinasia continued talks on their own HSR system. Kuehong has also engaged in talks with Cinasia and Fayaan to allow an HSR line through the military state, but expressed concerns about national security issues and the potentially high costs.
