Bank robbers in Geklinia-Dregolesia defeated by tram tracks

Trams in Dobrzanka, capital of Geklinia-Dregolesia

The Ulethan country of Geklinia-Dregolesia saw its shortest heist last night, as a group of three robbers were stopped not just by the police’s quick response, but by a pair of tram tracks.

At around May 9th 23:20 local time, the three robbers broke into a bank building, which immediately set off the alarm and alerted the authorities. With limited time, they stole 650 Ʉ (~152$) and a few computers, before getting away in their getaway van.

The chase lasted for only a minute as the van’s driver decided to cross tram tracks at a non-designated place 600 metres away from the bank. The van got stuck quickly, and the police soon caught and rounded up the criminals.

“I must say, it was one of the easiest and shortest police chases we had in Dobrzanka. Thank god that with the efficiency of our police force, we were able to stop the heist in time,” said the Dobrzanka Police Head Deputy, Krzysztof Drewiczenko. Chuckling, he added, “This was one of the strangest yet amusing cases in my career.”

Cleaning up of the incident site took around two hours, with tram lines redirected. The bank will be closed for the next few days pending further investigations.
