Xiongjing – Bai’s Finance Minister Huang Cailin had been selected as the new secretary-general of the Xingongrenhui (XGRH), the ruling party of the Bai Empire, through a special party congress yesterday.
In a statement released by the ruling party, it said that Huang received “an overwhelming support and confidence” from the majority of the party’s members. The decision by the majority of the party had been endorsed by senior members of the party who also expressed “trust and confidence” in Huang’s potential.
“Henceforth, through widespread consensus, we had decided to appoint comrade Huang Cailin as the party’s new secretary-general,” said the statement.
Last month, Bai Chancellor Li Shenkang announced that he would step down as the ruling party’s secretary-general “due to health and family matters”. Besides Minister Huang, Trade and Industries Minister Zhang Weiqing had been identified by many political observers to have the potential to succeed Li.
The new secretary-general is expected to lead the party in the next general elections set to be held in July. Political observers said that Huang has very strong party support with a significant political portfolio, to ensure the party’s unity and victory in the next elections.
“At this crucial time, with widening political opinions among members, the party risked a split. For Huang to have support from many members of the party showed his ability to keep the party united,” said a professor at the Xiongjing National University.
Messages of congratulations and support have poured in to congratulate Huang’s appointment as the new secretary-general. His contender Zhang said she would be looking forward to working with Huang and to be a part of his team.
“I deeply appreciate the camaraderie that we have shared over the years. Huang had always been professional and placed his country’s interests first. I look forward to continue working closely with him and the team to tackle and overcome the challenges ahead of us,” said Zhang in her social media post.
The Finance Minister said he will “continue to serve the Empire and its people wholeheartedly” and keep the party united for the next elections. He added that he was “humbled and grateful” for the trust and confidence of his colleagues who have chosen him to lead them.
“As the party’s new secretary-general, I shall strive to earn the trust and support of each and every one of our fellow citizens. Emulating my predecessors’ spirit of public service, I shall give my best in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to me. I look forward to working with my colleagues who had given me their support and I shall not disappoint them.”
