Pyapyor – “Maintaining principles of restraint and openness amidst an increasingly fragmented world should be the values close to the hearts of Grinzians,” Prime Minister Yimez Hrohua emphasised in his annual Parliamentary Message as Grinzez celebrates its 78th year as a republic yesterday.
Hrohua added, “Uncertain geopolitics and threats to democracy have persisted over the past year, and new forms of these threats are on the rise. But time and time again, Grinzians have shown we can overcome our differences, resist division, and affirm the collective resolves of our people in every way possible.”
He praised the continuing collaboration of Grinzians throughout the country, stressing that geographical distances are no barriers to their sense of cohesion: “Earlier this year, suppliers from Saremun and Gelayer responded promptly to disruptions in the Northwest caused by floods; while Thretop University students pioneered innovative means to house and improve resource access for the growing refugee population in the Ain Amtuch region. Every huge project, every ambitious undertaking we make, ultimately benefits not just its recipients, but lives across Grinzez which were transformed through the birth of opportunities.”
Celebrations this year proved to match up to previous iterations, with the traditional military parade held since Grinzez’s emergence from the civil war, street parades complemented by stage performances in the three federal districts, and a tribute to the individuals who shaped culture, science and enterprise for Grinzez.
Foreign dignitaries were also present, with the Izaki Prime Minister, the Rhododactylian President and the Gobrassian President invited to the celebrations. The Federal States state secretary attended the ceremony, along with a Bai delegation led by the Bai Foreign Minister. The Bai Emperor was reported to be “in poor health” and “regrettably” unable to visit Grinzez.
Social media trends also joined the celebrations, with Grinzians capturing places significant to them featuring the red-white-grey colour scheme and posting them under the #mycoloursGZ hashtag. Other popular posts include dances to remixes of Grinzian patriotic songs as part of a choreography competition.
